Otis Elevator Company is searching for a highly motivated Modernization Project Manager to oversee coordination of activities on multiple modernization installation projects. The Modernization Project Manager will ensure efficiency, cost containment, and customer satisfaction.

On a typical day you will:

  • Ensure flawless execution of each project by completing on schedule, within budget, and meets all technical & safety standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and customer expectations

  • Coordinate all contract activities from the project award stage to completion or project and provide a progress review of projects to ensure that contract documents are consistent with the required scope of the project

  • Proactively communicate with multiple client representatives including general contractors, owners, building managers, architects and designers, State and Local authorities, and regulatory agencies concerning project design, preparations, and scheduling of installation for the equipment

  • Work closely with the internal sales staff, superintendents, and senior leadership to ensure a successful project from both the financial and customer perspectives

  • Candidate should be versed in contract writing & administration and will perform customary construction process duties that include managing billing, consultant and contractors' payments, processing RFIs and optimizing change order opportunities, as well as maximizing project cash coverage

  • Accurately interpret construction contractual documents and contract modifications to determine cost of such change

  • Accurately analyze situations and assist in developing contingencies for estimates

What you will need to be successful:

  • 3+ years elevator industry project management and/or construction experience desired

  • Familiarity with cost estimating, scheduling, and contract administration

  • Ability to read and review architectural and structural drawings in both English and French

  • Team-oriented and adaptable in dynamic settings

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for developing relationships with both English and French speaking stakeholders

  • Self-motivated, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficient in Microsoft software within technical environments

  • Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred

Le ou la titulaire du poste veillera a l'efficacite de l'execution des projets, a la maitrise des couts et a la satisfaction des clients.

A quoi ressemblera une journee typique

  • Assurer l'execution impeccable de chaque projet en respectant les echeanciers, les budgets, les normes techniques et de securite, les exigences reglementaires ainsi que les attentes des clients.
  • Coordonner toutes les activites contractuelles, de l'attribution du projet jusqu'a son achevement, et effectuer des suivis reguliers afin de s'assurer que la documentation contractuelle correspond a la portee des travaux.
  • Communiquer de facon proactive avec divers intervenants, notamment les entrepreneurs generaux, les proprietaires, les gestionnaires d'immeubles, les architectes, les concepteurs, les autorites provinciales et municipales ainsi que les organismes de reglementation concernant la conception, la preparation et la planification de l'installation des equipements.
  • Collaborer etroitement avec les equipes de vente internes, les surintendants et la direction afin d'assurer le succes du projet tant sur le plan financier que de la satisfaction client.
  • Rediger et administrer les contrats et executer les taches usuelles liees aux processus de construction, notamment la gestion de la facturation, le traitement des paiements aux consultants et aux entrepreneurs, la gestion des demandes d'information (RFI), l'optimisation des occasions liees aux ordres de changement et la maximisation de la couverture de tresorerie des projets.
  • Interpreter avec precision les documents contractuels de construction ainsi que les modifications aux contrats afin de determiner les couts associes aux changements.
  • Analyser efficacement les situations et contribuer a l'elaboration de plans de contingence pour les estimations.

Ce qu'il vous faut pour reussir

  • Minimum de 3 ans d'experience en gestion de projets dans l'industrie des ascenseurs et/ou dans le domaine de la construction.
  • Connaissance des methodes d'estimation des couts, de planification et d'administration des contrats.
  • Capacite a lire et a examiner des plans architecturaux et structuraux en francais et en anglais.
  • Esprit d'equipe et capacite d'adaptation dans des environnements dynamiques.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication ecrite et verbale pour etablir des relations avec des intervenants francophones et anglophones.
  • Motivation personnelle et capacite a gerer plusieurs projets simultanement.
  • Maitrise des logiciels Microsoft dans un environnement technique.
  • Solides competences en leadership, en gestion du temps et en organisation.
  • Diplome d'etudes secondaires ou equivalent requis; diplome universitaire de premier cycle prefere.
