Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Mid-Level Java Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
In this role, you will join a large-scale ACH Payments Technology team to design, develop, and maintain high-performance API services, backend components, and integrations for an Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment origination platform.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance API services
  • Create backend components and integrations for a payment origination platform
  • Work within an agile, fast-paced environment

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on Core Java development experience
  • Strong expertise in Spring / Spring Boot, REST API development, and microservices
  • Mastery of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server)
  • Experience building highly available, distributed backend systems
  • Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, or similar) and NDM file transfer
  • Knowledge of API security patterns (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS)
  • Able to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office

Desired skills:
  • Payment domain knowledge (ACH, NACHA), payment file formats (PPD, CCD, CTX)
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Background in financial services, banking, or regulatory environments
  • Experience with JBoss Drools

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
