Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Digital Product Engineer - Hybrid position with a Regional Health Insurance Provider located in Eagan, MN. This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity.
Compensation: $69.20 - $79.20 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on application development, cloud engineering, API development, and modern software delivery practices. Working within an Agile engineering team, this role develops scalable software solutions that enable business processes, enterprise integrations, and digital experiences across the client's technology ecosystem. Engineers collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to build secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications and integration solutions
  • Develop cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services and modern software engineering practices
  • Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations
  • Participate in application design, technical discussions, and code reviews
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and fellow Software Engineers to deliver business solutions
  • Troubleshoot and enhance existing applications while contributing to modernization efforts
  • Support enterprise integrations across multiple applications, APIs, and cloud services
  • Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and operational standards

Primary Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong Java development experience
  • JavaScript and/or TypeScript
  • Experience developing REST APIs and microservices
  • Experience building cloud-native applications (AWS preferred or equivalent cloud platform)
  • Strong SQL fundamentals
  • Experience working within large enterprise application environments
  • Strong communication, curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Desired Skills:

  • Node.js
  • React, Angular, or similar UI framework
  • Event-driven architecture and event streaming (Kafka or similar technologies)
  • Cloud & DevOps experience with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM)
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
  • CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Familiarity with modern data concepts such as ETL/ELT, Databricks, and Spark
  • Healthcare or health insurance industry experience
  • Practical exposure to AI-assisted software development tools (GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.)
