Job description

Position: Seasonal Golf Pro Shop Attendant

Department: Golf Course

Supervisor: Golf Pro Shop Manager

FLSA: Part-Time Non-Exempt; seasonal work from April-September.

The Pro Shop Attendant at the Willow Tree Golf Course performs various tasks in the pro shop such as greeting and directing the general public, assisting in the maintenance of golf carts, and maintaining the gold pro shop clean and organized. The work does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or an acquired skill or previous experience in order to do an effective job. Work is generally performed under the immediate direction of the Pro Shop Manager, but many types of work assigned may be very routine and repetitive in nature and after once learned can be carried on without difficulty and only under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Meets and greets customers in a pleasant and friendly manner
  • Answers customer questions
  • Handles cash at the front desk
  • Cleans carts as needed after customer usage
  • Takes reservations for tee time and other events
  • Maintains a clean and organized shop
  • Performs minor maintenance of golf carts as needed
  • Performs other essential and marginal functions.

Ability to:

  • Effectively communicates and cooperates with customers, general public, and co-workers
  • Work independently and efficiently with little supervision
  • Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

Work Environment:

  • Working in an indoor facility
  • Move light objects (less than 20 pounds) long distances (more than 20 feet).
  • Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time (i.e., minor maintenance on carts, pick up items in the pro shop)
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements if outdoor duties are required.
  • Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting.
  • Must be 21 or older

Schedule:

  • Duration of season is April-September

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
There is no experience or training requirement for this entry-level position. Candidate must process a valid drivers license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
