ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time Administrative position of Head Coach, Esports.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a full-time administrative position of Head Coach, Esports responsible for maintaining the highest standards of citizenship, sportsmanship and conduct while instilling these values in the esports players of Southwestern Illinois College. The Head Coach, Esports is responsible for all aspects of the esports program, including recruiting, retention, player development, academic success, competition management, budget oversight, fundraising, and compliance with college, conference, and governing association regulations. During the non-championship season and off-season periods, the coach will perform additional athletic department duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution required. Bachelor's degree in Esports Management, Sports Management, Education or a closely related field strongly preferred.
2. Minimum of two years of experience coaching, managing, directing, analyzing, or competing in organized collegiate, scholastic, amateur, or professional esports programs or teams required. Collegiate esports coaching experience within NJCAA, NCAA, NAIA, or other recognized competitive organizations preferred.
3. Experience with esports operations, gaming technology, livestreaming, tournament administration and event coordination required.
4. Demonstrated experience using team communication and management platforms such as Discord, LeagueOS, Generation Esports, or similar systems required.
5. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and life or move gaming equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
6. Prior experience managing esports arenas, gaming labs or similar technology rich facilities preferred.
7. Must possess a valid driver's license.
8. Ability to obtain and maintain required coaching certifications.
9. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
10. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
SALARY
Salary Grade 2 on the Administrative Pay scale, ranging from $46,032 - $57,516 per year.
