Job Description Summary
The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will assist the Head Women's Basketball Coach with the overall oversight of the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball team.
Job Description
This position is a Technical/Professional role and is paid with a supplement as per the Santa Fe College Salary Schedule.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist the head coach with sport-specific instruction, team conditioning, game strategy, facility upkeep, equipment organization, recruiting of prospects, and travel to away/games during the sport playing season.
  • Ability to demonstrate the skills necessary to teach basketball including passing, dribbling, shooting, offensive strategy, and defensive strategy.
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Head Women's Basketball Coach
Qualifications
Required: Associates degree OR (2) two years of directly related experience, including coaching, or playing basketball at the college or professional level AND (2) two years of experience of coaching basketball at the high school, college, club or equivalent level.
Other: A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.

  • Communication - able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job.
  • Relationship Management - able to personally provide high level of interactive service to others, building relationships and addressing identified needs.
  • Team Orientation & Interpersonal - highly motivated team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
