Through strategic planning, leadership, and collaboration, the Infection Prevention Coordinator will develop and implement infection prevention goals and protocols to enhance safety throughout the facility.

Infection Prevention Coordinator Requirements:

  • Ability to promote and facilitate teamwork across departments
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to patient safety
  • Extensive knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, including regulatory guidelines for nursing care facilities
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions and respond effectively to infection control concerns

As an Infection Prevention Coordinator, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plans
  • Collaborate with facility leaders, physicians, and local, state, and national agencies on infection prevention activities
  • Oversee the infection prevention, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, and safety programs
  • Participate in national collaboratives and external reporting to CDC NHSN and other quality organizations
  • Ensure intervention and education for staff, volunteers, and medical personnel when infection control breaches, outbreaks, or non-compliance issues arise
