Job description

Signing bonus available to applicants with CDMS or CRC and Washington State L&I Claim experience.

Salary / Paid Internships are available while pursuing CDMS or CRC credentials.

Primary offices in Seattle and Tacoma, WA, with secondary offices in Lynnwood, Mount Vernon, Bellingham, Spokane and Wenatchee.

Job Duties:

  • Provide personalized assistance for Injured Workers as assigned by Labor & Industries
  • Meet with and work with workers to establish short term and long term goals for recovery and return to work
  • Assist injured workers in answering questions related to the claim process.
  • Assist injured workers in creating and developing a résumé based on job goals
  • Work with employers to facilitate a return to work, creation of Job Analyses, and provide information regarding stay at, and return to work incentives to allow for job modification or accommodation
  • Communicate with appropriate care providers to determine plan of care, and appropriate functional capacities based on objective medical evidence
  • Assess skills developed through employment history of clients, and utilize Labor Market Research to determine developed skills meet minimum skills and qualifications
  • Develop and implement retraining programs as needed
  • Track progress of communication and progress with all stakeholders (Worker / Attorney, Physician, Therapists, Employer, L&I, Employer)

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

CREDENTIALED COUNSELORS:

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree (medical or social sciences preferred) or Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling

Professional Certification:

  • Credentialed Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) AND / OR
  • Credentialed Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)

Additional Skills / Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with team members.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adjust and work with variety of injured workers, employers and providers
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurance
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the State of Washington
