Job description

Senior Retail Marketing and Visual Merchandising Specialist will support the execution and continuous improvement of U.S. Retail Customer Experience, Visual Merchandising, Retail Activation, and Boutique Retail Expansion programs for Nespresso USA. This role will also partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver customer‑facing experiences, merchandising initiatives, and activation programs that support operational excellence, brand consistency, and commercial objectives. This is a hybrid‑based opportunity working 2 days/week onsite (NYC Herald Square Office) and 3 days a week remotely.

Responsibilities Visual Merchandising Program Management
  • Support the execution of visual merchandising programs in alignment with commercial priorities and global standards.
  • Manage assigned merchandising projects, including seasonal campaigns, boutique refreshes, product launches, and fixture installations.
  • Assist in translating commercial priorities into merchandising plans and execution requirements.
  • Support Boutique Visual Merchandising Champions/Leads through communication, training materials, and execution resources.
  • Partner with Retail Sales, Marketing, Analytics, Operations, and HQ teams to implement merchandising initiatives.
  • Monitor merchandising performance and execution quality, identifying opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain reporting, post‑implementation reviews, and performance tracking related to merchandising initiatives.
  • Coordinate vendors and project activities to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
Retail Experience & Activation Program Management
  • Execute and continuously improveme retail customer experience programs, retail activations, campaigns, and product launches across all boutique formats, ensuring alignment with business priorities and brand standards.
  • Serve as the project lead for customer-facing initiatives, including seasonal campaigns, product launches, tasting programs, experiential activations, digital content, merchandising enhancements, and boutique engagement programs.
  • Coordinate campaign implementation activities, including launch planning, execution timelines, retail communications, material deployment, and launch readiness across the boutique network.
  • Partner with Marketing, CRM, Product Marketing, Training, Retail Operations, Coffee Ambassadors, and Global Retail teams to support campaign execution and customer experience initiatives.
  • Coordinate agencies, vendors, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure campaigns and activation programs are delivered on time, within budget, and according to brand standards.
  • Monitor customer feedback, boutique insights, and program performance to identify opportunities for optimization and improve execution quality.
  • Develop and maintain execution guidelines, communication tools, training resources, and boutique playbooks that support consistency across retail programs.
Retail Expansion, New Store Openings & Flagship Projects
  • Serve as the Retail Marketing subject matter expert for new boutique openings, relocations, renovations, pop‑up activations, and flagship projects.
  • Manage assigned customer‑facing initiatives, including seasonal campaigns, tasting programs, experiential activations, merchandising enhancements, and product launches.
  • Partner with Retail Development, Global Retail, Operations, Marketing, Training, and external vendors to support successful project execution and opening timelines.
  • Coordinate project plans, key milestones, communications, and execution activities related to Retail Marketing deliverables.
  • Support customer journey, merchandising, activation, and experiential requirements for new locations, ensuring customer‑facing elements align with brand standards.
  • Oversee installation and execution of retail marketing, merchandising, and experiential assets during boutique setup and launch activities.
  • Capture project learnings and recommend process improvements to strengthen future boutique opening execution.
Budget & Business Performance
  • Manage visual merchandising, retail activation, and customer experience budgets, including forecasting, actuals tracking, DF submissions, and budget reconciliation.
  • Monitor campaign and project performance, using business insights and performance data to identify opportunities for optimization and improved ROI.
  • Create purchase orders, manage invoices, and partner with Accounts Payable to ensure timely vendor payments and compliance with financial processes.
  • Provide budget analysis, performance reporting, and recommendations that support financial planning, forecasting accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, Communications or in a related field required.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in Shopper Marketing, Retail Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Retail Store Activations, Retail Development or in a related field required.
  • 3+ years of managing complex, cross‑functional projects and coordinating stakeholders across multiple functions is required.
  • Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) is required.
  • Current or prior experience managing Retail programs, activations, merchandising initiatives, product launches, or experiential Retail projects from planning through execution.
  • Experience managing creative agencies, vendors, and project budgets is required.
  • Must have excellent communication (oral and written), organizational and presentation skills.
  • Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive execution in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
  • Ability to work through change management and business transformation is required.
  • Experience working in in Luxury Retail, Hospitality, Experiential Retail, or Flagship environments is highly preferred.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% based on the needs of the team and the business is required.
