Merchandise Assistant – Elderwear School Uniforms


Position Summary

The Merchandise Assistant supports the day-to-day merchandising, inventory planning, and production activities for the Elderwear School Uniform business. This role works closely with the merchandising, sales, sourcing, and operations teams to help ensure product availability, inventory accuracy, and timely customer fulfillment.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop merchandising, inventory planning, and supply chain experience within the apparel industry.


Key Responsibilities:

Merchandise & Inventory Support

• Assist with analyzing sales trends, inventory levels, and customer demand to support planning decisions.

• Monitor inventory positions and identify potential stock shortages or excess inventory.

• Support fabric and raw material inventory tracking and replenishment activities.

• Prepare reports and analyses to support forecasting and inventory management.

Production & Order Coordination

• Create and maintain production orders in accordance with customer and business requirements.

• Track production schedules and follow up with mills, factories, and internal teams to ensure timely execution.

• Assist in monitoring order status and communicating updates to key stakeholders.

• Help identify and resolve issues that may impact production or customer deliveries.

Product & System Maintenance

• Set up and maintain styles, product information, and product indexes within company systems.

• Ensure inventory, production, and product data are accurate and up to date.

• Support reporting and data management activities across merchandising functions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Sourcing, and Operations teams to support customer orders and business initiatives.

• Assist with seasonal planning activities, including Back-to-School readiness.

• Respond to internal inquiries regarding inventory availability, production status, and product information.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field preferred.

• 0–2 years of experience in merchandising, planning, inventory management, supply chain, retail, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Positive, collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

• Experience in apparel, uniforms, retail, or consumer products is a plus.
