Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dental Packer is responsible for separating dental pouches from the material belt and counting, stacking, and packaging them according to customer specifications. This position involves reading and interpreting work orders, inspecting pouches for quality standards, and assisting Machine Operators with various tasks to ensure efficient and safe production in a manufacturing environment.


SHIFT:

  • Monday - Thursday 5:30am - 4:00pm

SUPERVISES:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Separate dental pouches from material belts and package them according to customer specifications.

  • Read and interpret work orders and machine diagrams to understand product specifications and processes.

  • Inspect pouches for acceptable tolerances and cosmetic defects per quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate product counts and label packages while adhering to production quotas.

  • Assist Machine Operators with:

    • Retrieving supplies and materials.

    • Machine setup and changeover procedures.

    • Picking, packing, labeling, and staging finished products.

    • Cleaning and performing limited equipment maintenance.

    • Completing production records, including logs of materials used and items produced.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety and operational guidelines.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.

  • Participate in training and career development opportunities provided by the company.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work in a manufacturing environment with loud noise levels.

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and lab coats is required.

  • Employees may work at different stations or shift tasks as production needs dictate.

EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus; prior experience as a machine operator is preferred.

  • Knowledge of flexible packaging and product scrap/defect issues is a plus.

  • Familiarity with ISO standards is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS amp; ABILITIES:

  • Basic math and reading skills, including the ability to take accurate measurements (down to 1/16') and record data.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to quickly recognize and address issues.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude that fosters teamwork.

  • Familiarity with basic tools and the ability to follow written and visual instructions accurately.

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Regularly lift, bend, reach, twist, turn, walk, and stoop.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Adequate vision to distinguish details and sustain prolonged periods of magnified inspection.

  • Good hand-eye coordination with steady arms, hands, and fingers for grasping and adjustments.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, often in a fixed body position for extended periods.
