  • Maintains type design definition of aircraft by producing form, fit, and function documentation.

  • Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.

  • Balances technical product, cost, and schedule in problem solving.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the job position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelor's.

  • Experience credit for related advanced degrees: limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

  • Thorough understanding of structures and mechanical system design criteria including design loads and durability (fatigue and corrosion).

  • Solid understanding of design and manufacturing processes for metallic and composite parts with focus on DFMA.

  • Solid understanding of 3D Model Based Definition (3D MBD) and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for details and assemblies.

  • Preferred: Proficiency in CATIA V5 workbenches (part design for machined parts, sheet metal, Composite Part Design, FT&A, Kinematics, Knowledge Based Engineering tools including parameters, design tables, and Visual Basic macros).

  • Preferred: Proficiency in SmarTeam PLM database.

  • Preferred: Prior work experience with aircraft design.
