Job description

Job Summary
This role operates at the system level, leading the integration of strategic workforce planning, people analytics (Visier), and people alignment initiatives to ensure alignment between workforce, operations, and financial strategy. The Senior Director is accountable for building a scalable, data-driven workforce planning capability that enables Corewell Health to anticipate future workforce needs, forecast demand across corporate, clinical and non-clinical roles, address evolving skill gaps, and respond to dynamic healthcare and market conditions.
This leader will advance modern work design by partnering with HR, Finance, Operations, and Digital Service teams to rethink how work is structured, decomposed, and delivered by optimizing roles, workflows, and workforce mix across "buy, build, borrow, and bot/automate" strategies. A critical component of the role includes identifying and operationalizing the impact of artificial intelligence and automation on the workforce, including redefining roles, augmenting human capability, and enabling productivity gains while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and the team member experience.
The Senior Director will serve as a strategic partner across the system to embed forward-looking workforce insights into decision-making, ensuring alignment between workforce investments, financial performance, and strategic priorities. This includes enabling a resilient, future-ready workforce equipped with the skills, capabilities, and capacity required to sustain Corewell Health's long-term transformation and growth.
Essential Functions
  • Leads the development and execution of Corewell Health's enterprise strategic workforce planning framework, integrating workforce, financial, and operational strategies to support long-term system priorities. Translates business strategy into data-driven workforce plans, including 3-5 year forecasts, scenario modeling, and optimization of workforce mix through buy, build, borrow, and automate approaches.
  • Owns the enterprise people analytics strategy, including the vision, roadmap, and optimization of the Visier platform to deliver consistent, high-quality workforce insights. Establishes data governance and advanced analytics capabilities-such as predictive modeling, segmentation, and skills analytics-and translates complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform executive decision-making.
  • Leads the transition to a skills-based workforce model by defining future capability needs driven by AI, automation, and evolving care models. Partners with Talent, Learning, and Operations to design and align enterprise reskilling and upskilling strategies, ensuring workforce capabilities support Corewell Health's long-term transformation goals.
  • Leads enterprise People Alignment initiatives to ensure organizational structure, talent practices, and workforce investments are aligned with Corewell Health's strategic and financial priorities. Partners with senior leaders on organizational design, workforce optimization, and talent alignment, while supporting system-wide efforts that drive accountability, transparency, and goal alignment.
  • Serves as a strategic partner to HR, Finance, and Operations to integrate workforce planning into annual and long-range planning processes. Facilitates data-driven, cross-functional decision-making and influences leaders on critical trade-offs across cost, growth, and workforce investments, supporting enterprise workforce transformation and talent strategies.
  • Builds and leads a Strategic Workforce Planning & Analytics Center of Excellence, establishing standardized processes, tools, and governance to enable consistent workforce planning across the enterprise. Develops internal capability among HR and business leaders in analytics, scenario planning, and skills-based workforce strategies, while driving organizational change to embed data-driven decision-making.
