• Insurance companies are contacted to obtain insurance verification and pre-certification for all surgeries, EMG/NCS, Visco-supplemental injections and DME.
• Enters benefit information and pre-certification authorization into guarantor notes in ECW and routes the order to billing department.
• Maintains a working knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance plans, etc.
• Schedules and reviews patients estimated co-pay, co-insurance or deductibles for Visco-supplemental injections once approved.
• Answers phones and provides routing information to callers.
Requirements
1 year of precertification experience required.
