Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Systems Engineer, Microsoft Teams, to join Visa's enterprise-wide subject matter expert (SME) team, accountable for the holistic Microsoft Teams experience across the company. This role is central to defining the strategy, architecture, governance, and operational model for Microsoft Teams, ensuring that the platform delivers seamless collaboration for every Visa employee.

As a Microsoft Teams Staff Systems Engineer, you will own the endtoend deployment, optimization, and evolution of the Teams environment, including meetings, chat, channels, voice, platform integrations, security, device integration, and space booking capabilities.

The ideal candidate has experience serving as a Microsoft Teams subject matter expert within a global enterprise, while operating with a product mentality.

The Work itself

  • Serve as one of Visa's lead Microsoft Teams experts, owning platform strategy, roadmap, architecture, governance, and daytoday service excellence.

  • Design and implement enterprise Teams policies, configuration standards, lifecycle management processes, and bestpractice governance.

  • Optimize the global Teams experience through monitoring, analytics, incident trend analysis, and direct partnership with Microsoft.

  • Oversee Teams interoperability across Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and other platforms.

  • Lead problem management, root cause analysis, and resolution efforts for complex Teams issues.

  • Partner with Audiovisual, Unified Communications and Enterprise Broadcast engineering teams, ensuring device integration meets modern collaboration standards.

  • Manage guest access, external collaboration, retention, DLP, and compliance capabilities.

  • Collaborate across Security, Network Engineering, Infrastructure, and Collaboration platforms.

  • Drive adoption and change management planning for new Teams features.

  • Maintain platform documentation, operational playbooks, FAQs, and training materials.

  • Participate in Microsoft product previews and roadmap alignment efforts.

  • Accountable for vendor and consultant management, including oversight of service delivery quality, technical alignment, contract performance, and integration of partner capabilities into Visa's collaboration ecosystem.

  • Direct and coordinate external engineering partners, ensuring architecture, operational processes, and project outcomes align with Visa's standards and longterm strategy.

  • Maximize AI and agentic automation opportunities across Microsoft Teams and the broader Microsoft 365 platform, including Copilot, Graphbased automation, workflow intelligence, meeting and communication insights, and nextgeneration collaboration agents.

  • Champion AIdriven optimization, using insights, automation frameworks, and platform telemetry to streamline operations, improve user experience, and elevate enterprise collaboration maturity.

Essential Capabilities:

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Exchange.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience with enterprise Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with Teams Admin Center, PowerShell, Teams Rooms, governance.
  • Knowledge of collaboration security and compliance tools.
  • Experience integrating Teams with devices and telephony.
  • Microsoft certifications such as MS700 or MS721 preferred.

U.S. Applicants Only

The estimated salary range for this positionis $131,600 to $233,700 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
