Job Description

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is seeking aDirector to serve as the subject matter expert for card portfolio optimization across theLatin America and Caribbean region. This role will lead the development, governance, and scaling of portfolio optimization capabilities by defining standards, shaping data- and AI-enabled solutions, enabling regional collaboration, and supporting adoption across markets.

The Director will work closely with regional and market teams, Visa cross-functional partners, and VCA leadership to connectVisa capabilities, VCA services, industry knowledge, and client needsinto practical, scalable solutions. The role also includes responsibility for strategic initiative governance, change management, communications, training, and agile facilitation to ensure successful execution and adoption.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience inpayments, card portfolio management, analytics, consulting, project management, and business transformation, with the ability to combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a lean team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as thecard portfolio optimization subject matter expert, providing guidance on portfolio growth, lifecycle management, performance improvement, and client impact opportunities.
  • Define and maintain portfolio optimization standards, including methodologies, business rules, recommendation frameworks, delivery guidelines, and reusable assets.
  • Shape data-, analytics-, and AI-enabled solutions by defining, assessing, and approving business requirements, use cases, outputs, and implementation considerations.
  • Build scalable frameworks, playbooks, templates, and training materials to standardize portfolio optimization delivery across markets.
  • Partner with regional and market teams to promote collaboration, share best practices, capture lessons learned, and scale proven approaches.
  • Support Visa and VCA strategic priorities by connecting VCA services, Visa capabilities, industry expertise, and client needs into actionable portfolio optimization solutions.
  • Govern strategic initiatives by managing priorities, tracking progress, identifying risks and dependencies, and maintaining clear documentation, action plans, and executive-ready status materials.
  • Drive change management and adoption efforts, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and practical use of AI tools and capabilities.
  • Facilitate agile ways of working for AI squads or cross-functional workstreams, supporting routines, coordination, issue resolution, and progress tracking.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while remaininghands-on in execution, directly driving key workstreams, deliverables, analysis, materials, and stakeholder coordination due to the lean team structure.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experiencein payments, financial services, consulting, card portfolio management, analytics, strategy, business transformation, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge ofbanking operations, payment schemes, and card portfolio management, including products and services, business systems, processes, marketing initiatives, and performance levers.
  • Proven experience usingfinancial and business performance indicatorsto assess portfolio health, measure impact, identify opportunities, and support data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience leading initiatives related tocard portfolio optimization, project management, operational efficiency, and change management, preferably within payments, banking, financial services, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability tolead and develop teams, set priorities, manage performance, and influence effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative, analytical, or business-related field such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, science, or business administration; advanced degree preferred.

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $163,500.00 to $ 261,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
