The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Henry Ford Health invites applications for a full-time academic faculty position in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery within the Henry Ford Medical Group. The ideal candidate will contribute to clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity, and service within the department and across the health system. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work in a collaborative academic environment, helping train the next generation of Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons.

Henry Ford Health has robust Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Training programs with affiliations to Michigan State University School of Human Medicine, Wayne State University School of Medicine and the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School.  We are expanding our Academic faculty to fulfill our mission of clinical service, teaching, and research.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons wishing to pursue a full-time academic position should be interested in a full scope hospital-based practice with regular on call responsibilities.  Additionally, all new faculty will have an opportunity to work in both nationally and internationally recognized tertiary care/level I trauma centers and state of the art ambulatory care facilities.

New faulty will be eligible for academic appointment and promotion through the medical schools.

Qualifications

A successful candidate:

  • Is a talented surgeon interested in full scope OMFS practice.
  • Is one who is passionate about resident education.
  • Possesses the drive to pursue specialty related scholarly activity.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, required to interact with various levels of resident learners, clinical leadership, and administration.
  • Completed a CODA/CDAC accredited residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Candidates considered for the position must board eligible and certified within 3 years of appointment by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ABOMS) and must be able to secure an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Michigan.
