A Brief Overview

The Instructional Designer is a creative, strategic learning professional responsible for designing highimpact learning experiences that build capability, drive performance, and elevate ourprograms. This role blends instructional designexpertise, copywriting finesse, and strong visual storytelling to create learning that is engaging, relevant, and resultsdriven.

You'llpartner closely withL&D managers,SMEs,peoplebusiness partners,and cross-functional teams to translate complex information into clear, compelling learning solutions, ensuring a consistent brand experience across all content.You'llalso lead multiple projects simultaneously,maintainingSLAs, project plans, and capacity management processes to ensure ontime delivery and highquality outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Develop blended learning solutions including workshops and virtual sessions, eLearning, videos, events, job aids, and graphics/visual elements. Ensure all content aligns to brand and quality standards, learning objectives, organizational goals, and adult learning principles.

  • Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for eLearning, facilitator guides, scripts, and learner-facing materials.

  • Partner with SMEs to extract, organize, and translate complex information into digestible learning.

  • Collaborate with L&D Managers to design and develop leader onboarding, development programs, and enterprise learning initiatives.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations, timelines, and feedback with professionalism and clarity; Hold self and partners accountable to project milestones, deliverables/deadlines, and quality standards.

  • Evaluate learning effectiveness, recommend and make improvements based on learner insights and business impact; Research, test, and recommend new tools, technologies, and design approaches.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

What You Will Need

  • 1-3 years Experience designing for diverse modalities (eLearning, ILT, VILT, microlearning, video, blended learning), Required

  • 1-3 years Experience working on large-scale, complex, enterprise programs - collaborating with business leaders, project teams, and SMEs, Required

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design models, learning science, and measurement and evaluation methods

  • PowerPoint (Visual design, animation, storytelling) and other Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Forms)

  • Strong copywriting skills - for video/training scripts, facilitator guides, job aids, and promotional articles

  • Ability to plan and prioritize project workflow, organization, and time management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making

  • Communication and collaboration across project teams and with business leaders and SMEs; ability to manage feedback, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects forward

  • Knowledge of talent development frameworks and leadership development

  • Proficient in layout & design and graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Proficient in Articulate Storyline or other eLearning authoring tools preferred (Rise, NovoEd, Vyond)

  • Experience with Project Management tools a plus (Monday.com)

  • Experience with LMS (Workday Learning) and Evaluation tools (Qualtrics, MS Forms) a plus

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235).
