What is a Virtual Plumbing job?

A Virtual Plumbing job involves providing remote assistance for plumbing-related issues using video calls, online consultations, and digital tools. Virtual plumbers guide homeowners or maintenance staff in diagnosing problems, troubleshooting minor repairs, and determining if professional on-site service is needed. This service helps save time and money by addressing minor issues without requiring an in-person visit.

What does a typical workday look like for someone in a Virtual Plumbing role?

A typical day for a Virtual Plumber involves providing remote troubleshooting and support to clients experiencing plumbing issues, often through video calls, chat, or specialized diagnostic platforms. Collaboration with in-person plumbers and customer service teams is common to ensure effective solutions and follow-ups. The role is predominantly desk-based and may offer flexible hours, making it suitable for those who prefer virtual or home-based work environments.

Job description

Carter’s My Plumber is hiring a Plumbing Apprentice — no experience required, $16–$18/hour to start, and 100% of your family’s health insurance covered from day one. Our Service Plumbers earn $52K–$150K/year, and we’ve been training people into that career from scratch since 1969.

Pay: $16–$18/hour (paid training, no experience required)

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Greenwood, IN — serving Indianapolis and surrounding communities

Schedule: Monday–Friday

BENEFITS

  • 100% employer-paid health, dental & vision insurance — for you AND your entire family (no employee contribution)

  • 401(k) with company match

  • 15 days PTO + paid holidays + 5 flex days

  • Tools, uniforms, and employee discounts provided

  • Paid, hands-on training from licensed Master Plumbers

  • Direct promotion path to Service Plumber ($52K–$150K/year)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Ride along with and assist licensed Service Plumbers on residential calls across Indianapolis

  • Help with plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installations — water heaters, water lines, fixtures, and more

  • Learn plumbing systems, tools, and diagnostic techniques hands-on every day

  • Develop the customer communication skills that make a great plumber

  • Keep the service vehicle stocked, clean, and ready

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • No plumbing experience required — we train from zero

  • Strong work ethic and a coachable attitude

  • Reliable: on time, every day, ready to work

  • Able to lift heavy equipment, bend, and stay on your feet

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Authorized to work in the United States

CAREER PATH

Plumbing Apprentice ($16–$18/hr) → Service Plumber ($52K–$150K/yr) → Senior Plumber → Leadership. We promote from within — the path is real and well-worn.
