Group Leader - Maintenance

Manufacturing Department

 

Summary:

The Group Leader, Maintenance is responsible for supervising and leading maintenance activities for a group of maintenance Associates.  This role provides day to day coaching and leads their team through effective communication to meet the established SIA objectives focused on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and team harmony. This role will be on an off shift and is subject to overtime to meet demands of production.

Outline of Duties:

  • Analyzes current failures, equipment breakdowns and PM activities to reduce risk of equipment malfunctions & breakdown which impact the overall efficiency of the section.
  • Coordinates with production and engineering to support productivity goals.
  • Establishes section goals for team members to achieve based on section KPI's.
  • Functions as budget controller for section.
  • Monitors all aspects of quality that are delivered to internal and external customers.
  • Ensures compliance of all SIA rules, policies, and practices, and takes appropriate corrective action, in accordance with the terms of the Associate Handbook.
  • Manages pay and attendance records in accordance with SIA Policy.
  • Collects, records, and analyzes information and maintains documentation regarding activities in assigned area as defined by SIA policy, procedure, or practice.
  • Understands, utilizes, and teaches SIA's Production System to Team Leaders and Associates.
  • Provides direct support to Team Leaders and Associates so they may effectively and efficiently accomplish work assignments.
  • Builder of professional relationships within their group and across departments of SIA.
  • Investigates and acts as a technical problem-solving resource by determining root cause and countermeasure required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in organizational leadership, Industrial Technology, related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Ability to lead, develop, implement, and maintain all predictive and preventive maintenance activities within the department
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, prints and schematics

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in automotive manufacturing
  • Mitsubishi PLC experience
  • Previous work experience in mechanical and electrical concepts and automated equipment
  • Friction roller drive and power and free conveyor systems
  • Knowledge of SAP maintenance system and parts inventory control
