Shape the Future of How Buildings Get Built

Positioned as a Senior Associate on our Virtual Construction team, you'll be at the center of project delivery-leading BIM coordination on complex projects that push the boundaries of what's possible. You'll create federated models integrating architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty contractor models; run clash detection processes from initial integration through final resolution; and guide subcontractors and design teams through coordination with clarity and professionalism.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the BIM coordination process on complex commercial construction projects, ensuring seamless collaboration between design teams and trade partners. Working closely with Project Managers, Virtual Construction leadership, and external stakeholders, you will help drive project success through comprehensive model-based coordination and resolution strategies.

Position Overview

The Virtual Construction Senior Associate will lead BIM coordination efforts on complex commercial construction projects, serving as the central point of contact for federated model management and clash detection workflows. This role requires expertise in Revit, Navisworks, and coordination processes that serve as critical deliverables for internal project teams, trade partners, and design consultants.

Deliverables include:

  • Federated coordination models integrating architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty contractor disciplines

  • Clash detection reports with prioritized resolution paths from initial integration through final sign-off

  • Model-based installation drawings and fabrication data for trade partners

  • 4D scheduling visualizations for project planning and client presentations

  • Integrated reality capture data supporting model verification workflows

Travel Expectation:This position is based at the HITT Regional Offices, but requires regular travel to local job sites depending on project assignments.

Responsibilities

Coordination and Modeling

  • Create and manage complex coordination models integrating architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty contractor disciplines

  • Lead the clash detection process from initial model integration through final resolution-owning the outcome

  • Guide subcontractors and design teams through coordination with clarity and professionalism

  • Develop comprehensive coordination strategies aligned with project phases and milestone requirements

Reality Capture Integration

  • Execute terrestrial and SLAM laser scanning to verify construction progress against models

  • Transform captured reality into actionable insights for project teams

  • Integrate scan data into BIM workflows for model verification and as-built documentation

Leadership and Mentorship

  • Mentor 1-2 junior Associates on tools, processes, and professional growth

  • Contribute to internal VDC playbook development-expertise helps the whole team improve

  • Ensure deliverables meet HITT's rigorous quality standards every time

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including weekly knowledge-sharing sessions

Required Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of demonstrated experience in commercial construction with 3+ years dedicated BIM/VDC experience

  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, and coordination workflows for commercial projects

  • Experience with laser scanning (terrestrial or SLAM) and reality capture integration

  • Understanding of construction documents, shop drawings, and design communication tools

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with trade partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced AI-driven VDC workflows and automation tools

  • Synchro Pro or CM Builder experience for 4D scheduling

  • Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency for visualization and presentation materials

  • 4D scheduling experience on complex commercial projects

  • Programming/scripting skills (Python, Dynamo) for automation and custom workflows

  • Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse or similar real-time 3D collaboration platforms

In accordance with California's Labor Code Section 432.3, the base salary range for this position is:

$73,800.00 - $105,300.00

Compensation in other cities and states may vary. HITT Contracting offers a competitive total benefits and compensation package including performance-based bonuses, premium health care coverage including vision and dental, employer-matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement program, paid holidays and time-off, and other voluntary benefits and leave types. The determination of salary is based on the candidate's individual professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
