Position Summary:

Equum Medical is seeking a Virtual-Safety Specialist (working onsite out of our Brentwood, TN office) to provide virtual observation of selected patients, identifying potentially hazardous behaviors in alignment with facility policies and procedures. As the responsible observer, you will also play a vital role in educating and onboarding other virtual safety specialists, ensuring a cohesive and vigilant team. Working collaboratively with licensed nurses and Patient Care Technicians, you will maintain patient safety, deliver basic patient care, and promptly intervene when necessary to prevent any risks to patient well-being. Effective communication and adherence to institutional and hospital policies will be essential in this critical role.

As a Virtual-Safety Specialist, you will be at the forefront of enhancing patient safety through continuous monitoring and timely interaction. Your vigilance and ability to engage with nursing staff will be instrumental in providing seamless, high-quality care. Additionally, you may be called upon to perform non-clinical duties when not assigned as a patient safety attendant. Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates understanding and proficiency of "solutions software."
  • Monitors up to 16 patients continuously on one screen, remaining alert while on duty
  • Effectively communicates with patients using a microphone and headset
  • Responds promptly to patient behavior changes and communicates effectively with hospital staff
  • Demonstrates discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff
  • Navigates technology, patient monitoring platform, and system requirements with ease.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

In addition to an hourly or base salary, this position could be eligible for 401k, continuing education, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors, including type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
