Job description

Position Purpose: Directly supervise clients during psychiatric appointments while supporting psychiatric providers in gathering and documenting client health histories and assessments. Manage and complete medication prior authorizations to ensure timely access to necessary treatments. Uphold a high standard of care by delivering program services in an ethical, legal, and professional manner, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment that aligns with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED and one year of addiction treatment experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Certified as a CNA, CMA, EMT or greater
  • Cardiopulmonary-resuscitation (CPR) and First-Aid training complete within three months
  • Experience utilizing behavioral management techniques
  • Ability to lead discussion and educational presentations
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Work hours prescribed by supervisor and be available to work additional hours when necessary. Overtime may be required.
2. Conduct client health history/assessments, and report to psychiatric provider prior to appointment.
3. Transcribe medication orders, and relay orders to the patient's pharmacy when necessary.
4. Assist with vital signs assessments.
5. Administer Spravato treatments and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) sessions according to provider protocols, ensuring patient safety and response monitoring as a back-up as needed.
6. Provide follow-up communication to clients with ongoing medical concerns.
7. Provide virtual support to other Rosecrance locations as needed.
8. Monitor and document client's response to medication and report any notable response immediately.
9. Act as an advocate for all clients and report all physical/psychological concerns to the medical and clinical staff.
10. Facilitate communication between clinical and medical staff.
11. Provide client education in individual and group settings on topics including: medications, physical health, mental health and alcohol and substance abuse issues.
12. Schedule clients for follow-up medical appointments when necessary.
13. Assist with preparing clients for medical consultation.
14. Document pertinent information daily in the EHR based on observations and involvement with the clients as required.
15. Serve as a member of the Office Support Services team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
16. Attend all scheduled meetings of psychiatric providers as designated.
17. Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
18. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
19. Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
20. Assume any additional responsibilities as assigned.
