LITERACY COACH / MATH & SCIENCE COACH
JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Literacy Coach / Math & Science Coach serves in a dual instructional leadership role, supporting teachers in the implementation of high-quality literacy, mathematics, and science instruction. The coach works collaboratively with teachers and administrators to improve instructional practices, increase student achievement, support curriculum implementation, analyze student data, and facilitate professional learning aligned with the school's instructional initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Minnesota teaching license required.
  • Minimum of three years successful teaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in literacy, mathematics, and/or science instruction.
  • Experience with instructional coaching, professional development, curriculum implementation, and data analysis preferred.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Literacy Coach Responsibilities (0.5 FTE)
  • Provide instructional coaching and support to teachers in literacy instruction.
  • Support implementation of schoolwide literacy initiatives, curriculum, and instructional best practices.
  • Assist teachers in analyzing literacy assessment data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Model effective literacy instructional strategies and lessons.
  • Facilitate professional learning opportunities related to literacy instruction.
  • Support teachers in implementing evidence-based reading, writing, vocabulary, and comprehension practices.
  • Collaborate with administration to monitor literacy program effectiveness and student outcomes.

Math & Science Coach Responsibilities (0.5 FTE)
  • Provide instructional coaching and support to teachers in mathematics and science instruction.
  • Support implementation of schoolwide mathematics and science curriculum and instructional initiatives.
  • Assist teachers in analyzing assessment data to improve student achievement.
  • Model effective mathematics and science instructional strategies and lessons.
  • Facilitate professional learning opportunities related to mathematics and science instruction.
  • Support teachers in implementing rigorous, standards-based instruction and student engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with administration to monitor program effectiveness and student outcomes.

Shared Responsibilities
  • Build positive and collaborative relationships with staff.
  • Support implementation of schoolwide instructional initiatives and improvement goals.
  • Participate in classroom observations and provide instructional feedback.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, differentiation, and instructional design.
  • Support data-driven decision-making through analysis of student achievement and assessment data.
  • Facilitate PLC discussions and professional learning activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or CEO.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Knowledge of literacy, mathematics, and science instructional practices.

POSITION INFORMATION
Salary: $40,000- $60,000 based on qualifications
