Job description

POSITION:  The Grand Rapids Area Learning Center seeks a full-time Mathematics teacher to provide instruction across multiple secondary math levels in a small, relationship-centered alternative high school setting. The successful candidate will work with students whose pathways have brought them to alternative education, differentiate instruction across a range of skill levels, support credit recovery, and contribute to the ALC team's student-centered, flexible approach to teaching and learning.

This position is based at the Grand Rapids Area Learning Center, with potential to also support Grand Rapids Area Virtual Academy (GRAVA), the district's online learning program.

REPORTS TO:  
Principal 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Teaching Agreement, salaried position, 1.0 FTE
Starting Pay: $45,988 to $90,185* depending on education and previous experience. 

*Full salary schedule is listed. Superintendent approval is required for starting beyond step 6.
Grand Rapids Area Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package. The district offers contributions toward medical insurance including a health savings account. QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure/Certification:
MN Teaching License Math 7-12 or 9-12

Preferred Experience:
Experience working with students in alternative or non-traditional learning settings; familiarity with credit recovery and competency-based instruction; ability to differentiate across multiple math levels in a single classroom; experience with online/virtual instructional platforms (e.g., Imagine Edgenuity); trauma-informed instructional practice; strong relationship-building and classroom management skills.
