The Compliance Associate ensures the company’s adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves managing compliance initiatives, conducting legal research, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to mitigate risk and support business objectives.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and support regulatory and legal compliance initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Advise on U.S. laws and regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and relevant state/local requirements.
  • Review and provide compliance guidance for product development, operational practices, and platform enhancements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Conduct legal research and deliver clear, concise written analyses.
  • Collaborate with external counsel, vendors, and customers on compliance matters.
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks related to company practices and policies.
  • Partner with Product and Operations teams to develop and maintain compliance policies and SOPs; assist with audits and remediation.
  • Document compliance decisions and maintain team resources.
  • Support sales and customer‑facing teams through calls, webinars, and RFP responses.
  • Perform additional compliance projects as assigned.
What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • 2+ years of experience in U.S. legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with FCRA, FTC, and CFPB regulations.
  • Working knowledge of employment background screening requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD or equivalent legal education preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including virtual presentation skills.
  • Ability to apply independent judgment and creative problem‑solving.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with precision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Commitment to integrity, curiosity, and continuous learning.
