Job description

Zurich North America is currently looking for a Senior Learning Technology Consultant for our Underwriting University (UWU) organization. We are seeking an open-minded, passionate learning technologist who embraces and experiments with emerging technologies, including AI, and brings curiosity and courage to challenge traditional approaches and advance innovative, technology-enabled learning solutions.
Underwriting University is aligned with Zurich's Technical Underwriting organization to deliver industry, product, and process training to Zurich's Technical Underwriting staff.
The Senior Learning Technology Consultant will, as assigned, partner with the business to enable the delivery of training content. This role will work autonomously on technology-based projects with broad scope, impact, and complexity.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Consult, advise, and lead learning projects in which technology is critical to the learning content or a key enabler for learning execution, taking full ownership from inception through execution, to include:
    • Executing on UWU's tools training strategy.
    • Remaining knowledgeable on current tools for designing, developing, deploying, and measuring learning, including AI-enabled technologies.
    • Evaluating tools' practical applications to improve content quality, development efficiency, learner engagement, and measurement of training effectiveness.
    • Creating testing plans and conducting project content tests to ensure content meets defined needs and quality standards.
    • Creating project dashboards and debriefs as deliverables are completed, to include measurement/impact to business, stakeholders, and learners.
  • Lead, define, and facilitate Underwriting University technology and underwriting projects. Specifically:
    • Work with stakeholders to determine needs and to define and validate project objectives.
    • Identify and compile additional data from tools, documents, etc. to interpret and further refine business needs and to measure learning effectiveness.
    • Clearly and accurately define and manage project deliverables, including measurement strategy, through collaborationwith UWU team members.
    • Report progress against plan to UWU and other stakeholders. Influence and negotiate outcomes with stakeholders.
    • Create high-level design and collaborate on content design through UWU instructional design resources, Subject Matter Experts, and third-party vendors, and provide constructive feedback throughout on output quality as the voice of the learner/customer.
    • Build training materials as project needs require.
    • Present, lead, produce, or otherwise support training delivery commensurate with their level and technical competence, primarily in a virtual environment.
    • Coordinate training sessions and communications, ensure content availability and storage/maintenance, and support participants' learning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of best practices, focused on learning design, development, and delivery technology.
  • Partner with stakeholders, as appropriate, to leverage enterprise processes and solutions.
  • Identify methodologies and tools to support initiatives that enable a culture that embraces continued professional growth and organizational learning in both traditional and virtual environments with particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence initiatives.
  • Take a holistic approach to identifying business improvement opportunities, develop solutions, manage initiatives, and identify the required resources.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Communications or Strategic Management or Project Management area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Communications or Strategic Management or Project Management area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree with 7 or more years of experience in the Communications or Strategic Management or Project Management area
    AND
  • Experience in strategic and operational consulting or business systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Insurance industry knowledge with subject matter expertise in at least one functional insurance discipline, such as Underwriting, Claims, or Risk Engineering
  • Training and development knowledge, including content development (face-to-face and virtual), learning technologies, or learning measurement
  • Experience in Organizational Effectiveness or Change Management methodologies and tools
  • Experience with AI development and deployment tools

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply-your unique background matters to us. The proposed Salary range for this position is $125,700.00 - $207,600.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
