Description
General Responsibilities:
Design and deliver face-to-face, online, and virtual courses in the areas of Business, Management, Marketing, Finance, and Introduction to Accounting. Develop, review, and update curriculum to ensure course content remains relevant, current, and effective. Stay up to date in the teaching field and incorporate best practices in instruction. Provide academic advising to students, serve on college committees, assist with student recruitment efforts, and participate in college events and activities that support the mission and goals of the institution.
Examples of Duties
Job Functions:
  • Provide high quality instruction, teach courses as assigned, provide students with course documentation, demonstrate effective interaction skills, relate instruction/materials to course objectives, develop creative class activities, use various teaching techniques, and organize instruction.

  • Provide academic advising, assist with recruitment, develop and implement successful retention activities, assist in graduate placement, assist in student orientation/registration, provide appropriate safety instruction.

  • Manage classroom/lab, clinic activities in an orderly manner, hold 8 office hours per week, submit all required reports in a timely manner, prepare budget projections for equipment and supplies, and practice good housekeeping, repair equipment as appropriate.

  • Design new programs, revise curricula, develop new courses, develop and revise instructional materials for current courses, participate in advisory committees.

  • Work on college committees, perform public service for the college, supervise/chaperone student events, promote the purpose and institutional objections of the college, and build rapport with employers of graduates.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the the teaching discipline).
Preferred Requirements:
A Master's degree in Business or a related field is required, or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a business-related discipline. Industry and teaching experience are preferred. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with learning management systems, web conferencing platforms, virtual learning environments, and other instructional technologies. Previous teaching experience in the field is preferred, particularly with multimedia technology, learning management systems, conferencing software, and online instruction. The ideal candidate will also have experience with appreciative advising and demonstrate proficiency in identifying and utilizing AI tools and technology to support teaching and learning.

Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm, Friday, 8:00 am - 11:30 am
