Job description

The group you'll be a part of
Deposition Product Group, Dielectric Film Business Unit
The impact you'll make
As a Bill of Materials Configuration Specialist at Lam, you will collaborate with a high-performing team of engineers focused on new product development for PECVD and ALD applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive semiconductor breakthroughs that define the next generation of fab equipment. In this vital role, you will create, manage, and maintain detailed, complex BOMs and configurations from initial development through high-volume manufacturing, applying your expertise in planning and execution.
What you'll do
  • Develop a detailed understanding of Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) including CAD (Creo, NX), Siemens Teamcenter, and SAP BOM structures across multiple PECVD and ALD products, including VECTOR MD, DB, CORE, and TEOS.
  • Partner with system and subsystem engineers, manufacturing, configuration engineers, and product management to define BOM structures, part numbers, and quantities to maximize modularity, reusability, and manufacturability.
  • Create, review, and manage change requests and release of existing and new BOMs, ensuring accurate structure and attributes including part classification, and quantities.
  • Create, review, and manage BOMs for nonstandard requests (NSRs), custom configurations, and field upgrades.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of BOM and configurations in the entire PLM system: from engineering BOM in CAD to released BOM in Teamcenter and SAP.
  • Collaborate across product teams to identify opportunities for modularity, subsystem commonality, and part reuse.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes related to BOM management.

Who we're looking for
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a technical field such as mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems and spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with 3D MCAD design tools (e.g., Creo/ProE).
  • Experience with configuration and systems engineering, including BOM structures, product configuration management, and release processes.
  • Ability to manage project timelines in alignment with company-wide BOM release cadence.

Preferred qualifications
  • Highly detail-oriented and thorough in execution.
  • Experience with agentic AI and automation tools is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers across multiple disciplines to understand how subsystem BOMs interact.
  • Ability to manipulate and build CAD assemblies to assess component or subassembly compatibility and interdependencies within large-scale assembly structures for a given product.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to generate progress-tracking reports.
  • Basic understanding of engineering and product development principles.
  • Working knowledge of product manufacturing principles and business processes.
