CPA / Accountant - $45/hr
Pay: $45.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Thursday
A professional accounting firm is seeking an experienced CPA / Accountant to join their team and provide year-round accounting and tax support to individual and business clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working directly with clients, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
A CPA license is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong tax preparation and accounting experience are encouraged to apply.
Job Description
The CPA / Accountant will prepare individual and business tax returns, assist with tax planning and compliance, and provide general accounting support to clients. This position will also help clients organize financial information, research tax-related questions, and complete journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare individual and business tax returns.
  • Review financial information and help clients maintain organized records.
  • Assist with tax planning and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate directly with clients in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Research tax issues and assist with resolving client questions.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Perform additional accounting and bookkeeping work as needed.
  • Support year-round client accounting and tax needs.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines during tax season.
  • Use tax and accounting software to manage workflows and client files.
  • Prepare and sign tax returns as permitted when appropriately licensed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client financial information.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • CPA license preferred but not required.
  • Previous tax preparation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a CPA or accounting firm is a plus.
  • Knowledge of individual, small business, and self-employed tax returns preferred.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping, payroll, and general accounting functions is helpful.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, and deadlines.
  • Comfortable learning and utilizing tax and accounting software.
