What You'll Be Doing
Job Summary: Hargrove is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and execution of complex industrial and manufacturing projects. You'll play a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and innovative solutions for industrial facilities, process plants, manufacturing operations, and infrastructure projects.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Developing conceptual layouts, engineering studies, and cost estimates.
  • Performing structural analysis and design for steel structures, concrete foundations, equipment supports, pipe racks, buildings, platforms, and industrial infrastructure.
  • Preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, sketches, and construction documents.
  • Reviewing calculations, drawings, and designs prepared by other engineers.
  • Ensuring compliance with International Building Code (IBC), ASCE, AISC, ACI, and applicable client standards.
  • Coordinating with mechanical, piping, electrical, process, and project management teams throughout project execution.
  • Supporting procurement activities through scopes of work, specifications, bid packages, and technical evaluations.
  • Reviewing vendor drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction submittals.
  • Providing field support, site investigations, tie-in verification, and construction assistance.
  • Identifying project risks, scope changes, and potential schedule impacts.
  • Supporting interoffice collaboration and work-sharing initiatives to optimize project delivery.

Ideal Background
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required. Structural coursework is required for structural engineering positions.
Registration: Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires 4+ years of structural engineering experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, chemical, process, power, or heavy industrial facilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience working in an engineering consulting, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), or industrial project environment.
  • Knowledge and application of the International Building Code and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.)
  • Expertise with structural analysis software including operating and interpreting results.
  • Knowledge of the discipline specific methods, practices and techniques required to engineer, design and construct process and manufacturing projects.
  • Able to deliver convincing presentations of Hargrove Engineers & Constructors services.
  • Working knowledge of STAAD Pro, RISA, RAM Structural System, SAP2000, AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Revit, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships are developed, and able to provide interoffice execution leadership and support.

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
