Hours:ย M-F typical is 7:00am-3:30pm schedule is flexible- whatever time they pick they stick with it

Salary:ย $120,0000-180,000 (flexible based on experience)

Interview Process: two rounds- 1st virtually 2nd in person

Overview:

A client of ours is seeking an experiencedย Engineering Managerย to provide technical leadership for growing their engineering team in Dublin, Ohio. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a background in structural engineering, construction engineering, or heavy civil construction. The Engineering Manager will oversee complex engineering projects, mentor technical staff, establish engineering standards, and support business growth initiatives while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative engineering solutions

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, construction engineering, or heavy civil engineering
  • Experience with temporary structures, construction engineering, or heavy civil construction projects
  • Experience leading projects and providing technical guidance to engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of engineering codes and standards, including ASCE-7, IBC, AISC, and ACI
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software
  • Experience designing steel, concrete, retaining structures, and foundation systems
  • Ability to review, approve, and seal engineering calculations, drawings, and reports
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Plusses:

  • Background supporting business development efforts, proposals, and client presentations
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and developing engineering standards and quality processes
  • Experience with specialized designs such as:
    • Earth retention systems
    • Structural underpinning
    • Falsework plans
    • Cofferdam plans

    • Bridge beam jacking and erection plans

Day to Day:

  • This person will have 3 direct reports
  • Serve as the technical leader and subject matter expert for structural and construction engineering projects
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through design, construction, and project completion
  • Perform and review structural analysis, calculations, drawings, specifications, and design reports
  • Review, approve, and seal engineering documents in accordance with Ohio PE requirements
  • Mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff to support professional development and technical excellence
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, architects, and project stakeholders to develop practical and cost-effective solutions
  • Conduct site visits and structural inspections, providing recommendations for repairs, modifications, and construction methods
  • Review shop drawings, construction submittals, and field changes
  • Establish and improve engineering standards, workflows, and quality control procedures
  • Support business development initiatives through proposal support, client meetings, and technical expertise
  • Assist leadership in expanding engineering services, market presence, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with applicable codes and industry standards
