Position Description

The BOOST Student Success Coach will provide success coaching and holistic support services to a cohort of Health Sciences students. This position will be responsible for developing and updating individualized success plans for each cohort student. The coach will engage in proactive and regular outreach, provide personalized coaching interventions, and connect students with appropriate resources to promote persistence, degree completion, and career readiness within the health and wellness field. The Success Coach will collaborate with faculty, college staff, and community partners to create a network of resources that enhances student achievement and wellbeing.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

Student Coaching and Case Management
*Provides success coaching services to a cohort of Health Sciences students; develops and updates student success plans to ensure persistence and completion.
*Reviews student data, intake forms, basic needs surveys, and related documentation to identify support needs and guide holistic coaching strategies.
*Creates a comprehensive caseload management plan that includes regular, proactive communication and outreach to assigned students.
*Provides wraparound services including stipends, textbooks, tuition assistance, and academic supports, ensuring students have the resources needed to achieve their goals.
*Provides proactive interventions informed by early alert systems and predictive measures; connects students to campus and community resources to address academic and personal challenges.
Student Development and Support
*Equips students with success strategies, goal-setting tools, and access to relevant support services to foster academic achievement, retention, and completion.
*Offers individualized coaching sessions focused on student strengths, accountability, and skills development.
*Serves as the primary point of contact for Health Sciences students experiencing personal or academic difficulty, coordinating campus support services as needed.
Collaboration and Partnerships
Collaborates with faculty, student services teams, and on- and off-campus partners to develop resources, workshops, and activities that support cohort success.
Provides consultation and referral assistance to faculty and staff who engage with Health Sciences students.
*Participates in resource fairs, enrollment events, and other initiatives that promote the BOOST program and student success.
Technology and Recordkeeping
Utilizes college technology platforms to track student progress toward credential completion, record interactions, and monitor engagement data.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation of all coaching activities and referrals.
Monitors and evaluates student progress and retention to identify barriers and implement targeted support strategies.
Assists in developing and maintaining coaching tools, materials, and communication templates that support consistent service delivery.
General Duties
Delivers timely and accurate information to students regarding available college resources, services, and policies, including financial aid, academic support, disability services, and registration processes.
Responds promptly and professionally to student inquiries and program-related communication.
Conducts outreach to active and inactive students to promote continued enrollment and goal completion.
Provides occasional evening, weekend, or virtual coaching sessions as needed to meet student demand.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and commitment to the application of the highest standards of legal and ethical principles
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of current technologies and virtual communication platforms, presentation creation, and web-based applications
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, Ellucian (Colleague), and WebAdvisor
Knowledge of college student development, educational advising, and retention practices
Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Ability to work on multiple campuses, as needed
Ability to communicate with student via various methods (face to face, phone, email, virtual, and text based communication)
Well-developed written and oral communication skills
Ability to travel locally between campuses as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
One year of experience providing advising, counseling, academic coaching, or retention support in a college setting or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
