Role Summary
The Business Development Representative leads all prospecting efforts for the Central Tennessee residential market. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and qualifying new builder, remodeler, and contractor opportunities that grow Fairview yard sales and support pull-through business for all vertically integrated manufactured goods. The Business Development Representative works directly with Account Managers and Senior Outside Sales Representatives to develop target accounts into qualified opportunities and first-order wins. This role is expected to maintain strong market coverage, disciplined field activity, and consistent HubSpot documentation.
Scope of the Position
This position is located in Fairview, TN and is focused on the Central Tennessee residential market. The Business Development Representative is responsible for building target account coverage, developing prospect relationships, and creating qualified opportunities for the Tennessee sales team. This role requires regular field travel throughout the market.
Responsibilities
  • Lead all prospecting efforts for Central Tennessee residential growth
  • Build and maintain a target account list for builders, remodelers, and contractors
  • Focus on Prospect accounts and high-upside Bronze accounts
  • Schedule meetings, jobsite visits, and discovery conversations with target accounts
  • Work directly with Account Managers and Senior Outside Sales Representatives to develop pursuit plans
  • Identify opportunities that grow Fairview yard sales and support pull-through business for all vertically integrated manufactured goods
  • Develop new customer relationships and strengthen industry partnerships
  • Log all prospecting activity in HubSpot at the Company level
  • Create qualified opportunities that can be advanced by the sales team at the Deal level in HubSpot
  • Maintain clear next steps, activity notes, and account ownership in HubSpot
  • Support first-order conversion and early relationship development
  • Work with Sales Management to prioritize target accounts, activity, and market focus
  • Acknowledge and promptly resolve customer inquiries and concerns
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum 4 years in sales or business development
  • Construction or building materials experience preferred
  • Experience prospecting builders, contractors, or related accounts preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Sit, stand, and walk frequently
  • Travel regularly to jobsites, customer offices, and field locations
  • Adapt to various environments including yard, jobsite, and production settings
