Sales Consultant – Large Group (100+) 

Location: Columbus, IN or Indianapolis, IN 
Reports To: Vice President, Sales 

Position Summary 

SIHO is seeking a high-performing Sales Consultant responsible for driving growth through the acquisition of new employer group health plan business. This role focuses on developing relationships with brokers, consultants, and employers while promoting SIHO’s fully insured and self-funded health plan solutions. 
 
The ideal candidate brings a consultative sales approach, strong relationship-building skills, and experience selling employee benefits to mid-sized and large employer groups. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve annual membership and revenue growth goals. 
  • Identify, research, and cultivate prospective employer group opportunities. 
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and broker partnerships. 
  • Generate and secure meetings with employer decision-makers, benefit consultants, and brokers. 
  • Present SIHO products and value proposition in virtual and in-person settings. 
  • Lead the sales process from prospecting through implementation and onboarding. 
  • Establish and maintain broker and consultant relationships. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate RFP responses. 
  • Analyze client needs and recommend customized benefit solutions. 
  • Conduct client orientations and enrollment meetings as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate CRM activity records. 
  • Partner with internal teams and perform other duties as assigned. 

Performance Expectations 

  • Meet or exceed annual new membership and revenue goals. 
  • Deliver high-quality work within established timelines. 
  • Build productive relationships with clients, brokers, prospects, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Effectively manage territory, pipeline activity, and sales opportunities. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Active Health and Life Insurance License. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum 4 years of health insurance, employee benefits, or healthcare sales experience. 
  • Demonstrated success generating new business and achieving sales goals. 
  • Experience selling to employer groups with 100+ eligible employees. 
  • Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience selling self-funded, level-funded, and fully insured health plans. 
  • Experience managing complex large-group opportunities. 
  • Existing Indiana broker and consultant relationships. 
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms.
