RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for dealership employees
  • Calculate commissions, bonuses, and payroll adjustments
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Reconcile payroll, bank, and general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile employee-related general ledger accounts, including employee accounts receivable, 401(k), payroll liabilities, and other employee benefit accounts
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and accounting reports
  • Coordinate with Human Resources regarding employee changes and benefit deductions
  • Review accounting records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Maintain organized accounting records while ensuring confidentiality
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries
  • Support the Controller and accounting team with daily operations
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience required
  • Automotive dealership accounting experience preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with dealership management software (Automate preferred) is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screening

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Office-based position in a fast-paced dealership environment with frequent interdepartmental interactions
