Bilingual Benefits Customer Service Representative – Spanish

Location: Richardson, TX
Pay Rate: $19.25/hour bilingual rate
Work Schedule: Flexible availability between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM
Location Requirement: Must live within 1 hour of Richardson, TX
Language Requirement: Spanish/English bilingual – required


Position Overview

We are seeking a Bilingual Benefits Customer Service Representative to assist Spanish- and English-speaking members with their employee benefit plans.

In this role, you will help customers navigate health and welfare benefits and pension plans, assist with enrollment and plan updates, answer questions, and provide clear explanations of complex benefits information.


This position begins with training and onboarding, followed by the opportunity to work from home once work-from-home eligibility requirements are met.

This is a contingent position, with opportunities for high-performing representatives to continue supporting additional client programs and potentially be considered for future full-time opportunities.

Important: We are accepting Spanish/English bilingual candidates only. French or other language combinations do not meet the requirement. Candidates must also be local to the Richardson, TX area and

able to commute within approximately one hour when required.


Schedule & Hours

  • Must be flexible to work shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM
  • During the busy season, candidates should be prepared to work 40 hours per week
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods
  • During training and the off-season, hours may fluctuate between 32–40 hours per week, based on client needs
  • Work-from-home eligibility is subject to company requirements following the initial training period


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to members in both Spanish and English
  • Assist customers with benefit enrollment, plan updates, and general benefit questions
  • Build rapport quickly and provide compassionate, professional assistance
  • Explain health, welfare, and pension plan information in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
  • Research customer questions using plan documents, online resources, and knowledgebase tools
  • Identify customer needs and determine appropriate solutions or next steps
  • Handle challenging or sensitive customer interactions professionally and diplomatically
  • Document complete and accurate customer interactions and case notes in English
  • Translate information from Spanish-language calls into accurate, grammatically correct English documentation
  • Protect confidential medical, financial, personal, and benefits information in accordance with HIPAA, data privacy, and security requirements
  • Follow all company and client procedures, policies, and service standards
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing development
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and team members
  • Assist customers primarily by phone, with opportunities to support chat and messaging as experience is gained


Qualifications

Required:

  • Fluent Spanish and English – required
  • Customer service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to document Spanish-language customer interactions in professional English
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask across multiple computer applications and windows while assisting customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to quickly understand customer concerns and determine appropriate resolutions
  • Comfortable following structured schedules, procedures, and performance standards
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment
  • Comfortable participating in online training and communicating with managers and supervisors through chat and other virtual tools
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Must be comfortable handling confidential customer information


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Call center experience
