Intake Patient Engagement Specialist

Schedule: 3p-11:30p

Compensation: $16-$18

We’re seeking individuals who are compassionate, steady under pressure, and dedicated to helping patients feel safe and supported during one of the most vulnerable moments of their journey—intake and admission.

As an Intake Patient Engagement Specialist, you'll serve as a warm, organized, and stabilizing presence from the moment a patient walks in the door. You'll be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and respectful admission process while upholding the dignity and privacy of every individual entering care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet new patients warmly and guide them through the intake process with care and professionalism

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and calm front lobby area, welcoming patients and guests

  • Ensure all intake forms, identification, and documentation are completed thoroughly and accurately

  • Assist the Intake Nurse with vitals, breathalyzer tests, and drug screenings

  • Escort patients through each step of the intake process and ensure their personal belongings are logged appropriately

  • Set patients up for virtual interactions using Microsoft Teams as needed

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold all confidentiality protocols

  • Respond calmly and effectively to emotionally escalated situations using de-escalation techniques

  • Support administrative functions such as answering phones, scheduling, and visitor sign-in

  • Collaborate with the full care team to ensure smooth transitions and consistent communication

  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families, reassuring them during the admission experience

  • Maintain a professional, clean, and secure environment at all times

  • Report directly to the Patient Engagement Manager

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the clinical and engagement teams

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent life/work experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working in behavioral health, residential care, or a related role preferred

  • Crisis intervention or de-escalation training strongly preferred

  • Strong emotional intelligence, communication skills, and reliability

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use

  • Personal passion or lived experience with recovery strongly preferred

  • Authorized to work in the United States
