Job description

Position Summary
The Virtual Sitter (VS) provides continuous remote observation of assigned patients via video monitoring technology to enhance patient safety and support clinical staff. This role is responsible for identifying behaviors that may place patients at risk (e.g., falls, self-harm, device disruption) and promptly communicating concerns to the bedside care team.
The Virtual Sitter serves as an added layer of safety, helping maintain a secure and healing environment. Strong communication skills, empathy, and proficiency with digital health tools are essential.
Key responsibilities include virtual monitoring, interaction with patients and families, and supporting patient safety. The position works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and uses independent judgment to prioritize work and report observations to appropriate personnel.
Position Qualifications
Minimum EducationMust be able to read, write and understand simple instructions. Must be able to perform simple manual tasks as assigned.
Knowledge of computer use and various data base software programs. Ability to adapt and be flexible with frequent change. Possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education High school graduate.
Patient care experience preferred.
Certifications Required Healthcare Provider CPR certification
De-escalation training (will be provided upon hire)
