Sourcing Assistant - Chinese Speaking

We are currently seeking a Sourcing Assistant who speaks fluent Chinese. This Sourcing Assistant will support the Product Manager in sourcing matters, as well as in developing product-related projects that meet the design team's seasonal vision, clients' merchandising requirements, and overall company goals. This individual will be integral to ensuring that the company's day-to-day operations run efficiently by tracking the development and production process, communicating relevant information to cross-functional partners, and maintaining in-house libraries.

The Sourcing Assistant will report to the Sourcing Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Request and track all samples to ensure receipt prior to catalogue meetings and the full production week.
  • Review and confirm all samples from suppliers, along with evaluating any required improvements or changes.
  • Create or update the product presentation PowerPoint/Excel pricing sheet for upcoming meetings.
  • Review new products upon arrival and resolve and follow up on any packaging or product quality-related issues.
  • Partner with the Packaging team to develop uniquely appropriate delivery systems for different products.
  • Communicate with suppliers daily to further progress and optimize the production and delivery process.
  • Work effectively within cross-functional teams, sharing critical information with everyone involved in a project.
  • Learn, understand, and carefully follow detailed documented work procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Anticipate potential future problems and opportunities, remaining at-the-ready for a number of different outcomes.

Ideal Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • 1-3 years' experience in strategic sourcing.
  • Fluency in Chinese.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects, meeting or exceeding project due dates and effectively maintaining an efficient schedule for multiple jobs.
  • Excellent ability to follow through and self-delegate (carefully monitoring one's own work, able to achieve desired results independently, etc.).
  • Highly flexible, able to quickly respond to both internal and external customers while remaining open-minded and changing opinions based on new information.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Detail oriented.
