Description
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Solar Closer to join our growing sales team. The Solar Closer will be responsible for conducting professional solar consultations, educating homeowners about solar energy solutions, presenting system options and potential savings, addressing customer concerns, and successfully closing qualified solar opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a confident communicator with strong sales skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to guide homeowners through the solar sales process from initial consultation to signed agreement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-home, virtual, or other customer consultations to understand energy needs and solar goals.
  • Educate homeowners on solar energy, system design, financing options, estimated savings, and available incentives.
  • Present customized solar proposals and clearly explain system specifications, pricing, financing, and expected benefits.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and consultative selling.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solar solutions.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and objections throughout the sales process.
  • Effectively negotiate and close qualified solar sales opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently work toward individual and company sales goals.
  • Follow up with prospects and customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately document customer information, proposals, sales activity, and agreements in the company CRM.
  • Coordinate with Setters, Site Survey, Operations, Installation, and other internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to project completion.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company products, services, financing programs, and sales processes.
  • Stay informed about changes in solar technology, utility programs, incentives, and market trends.
  • Ensure all sales presentations and customer interactions comply with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and coaching programs.
  • Meet or exceed established sales, revenue, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in sales, preferably in solar, home improvement, roofing, HVAC, construction, or a related industry.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Strong closing, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex products and financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a performance-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and follow-ups effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Professional appearance and communication.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Ability to travel locally to customer appointments as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous residential solar sales experience.
  • Established track record of successful closing performance.
  • Knowledge of solar system design, financing, utility programs, and incentives.
  • Experience with CRM and solar sales platforms.
  • Existing network or experience working with residential homeowners.
