Job description

Description of Position Description of Position: The Student Worker will provide essential support to two key areas within the college: the Food Pantry, and the Social Services Office. This position requires a responsible, organized, and proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks and contribute positively to each area's operations. The Student Worker will gain valuable experience in office administration, event support, and community service.

Responsibilities: Food Pantry: Saint Mary's Food Bank Deliveries: Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking cupboards with delivered items. Organization and Maintenance: Help students with their pantry appointments. Keep the food pantry neat and orderly.

Track inventory, update statistics. Remove expired food items. Organize and maintain storage spaces.

Student Outreach: Proactively contact students who miss appointments or who apply but don't schedule. Event Assistance: Assist with food pantry pop-ups, mobile distributions and food drives. Social Services Office: Event Support: Provide assistance at on-campus events and help with setup and teardown.

Design and Promotion: Use Canva to create flyers, announcements, and signs. Coordinate event promotion through flyer distribution and targeted marketing efforts. Minimum Expectations & Requirements Minimum Expectations & Requirements: Currently enrolled as a student at the college.

Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and Canva. Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Schedule and Compensation: Flexible hours to accommodate class schedules. Part-time position with an hourly wage. Essential Functions The start date, to occur no sooner than July 1st of the current aid year, of this position will be determined by the hiring supervisor after an applicant is hired.

This position has a standard end of assignment date of June 30th of the current aid year. Assignment may end sooner or be extended depending FWS eligibility, availability and/or department need. This position is employed by Yavapai College, unless otherwise noted in the above job description.
