Job Title: Lifeguard
Job Type: PRN / As Needed
Shift: Day Shift
Salary Range: $17.25 - $20.00/hour (Final offer based on skills, experience, and professional background).

What You'll Do
  • Maintain continuous surveillance of people in the therapy pool, lap pool, and spa to ensure safety
  • Ensure appropriate headcount of people involved in water activities on a continual basis
  • Provide safety information to people prior to indulging in water sports
  • Supervise swimmers to ensure they comply with safety protocols
  • Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents
  • Enforce all pool rules and handle and report unruly behavior consistently
  • Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively, and according to established emergency and accident management procedures
  • Perform rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents
  • Perform first aid and CPR as required by adverse situations
  • Perform pool chemical checks to ensure safety and hygiene
  • Maintain accurate records of pool use and chemical levels
  • Teach swimming techniques and safety education to new swimmers
  • Check safety of rescue devices and perform or request needed maintenance
  • Ensure all pool equipment is stored safely, and lost items are kept secure

What We're Looking For
  • Completion of High School required, some college preferred
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Available to work weekends and holidays
  • Fulfills monthly educational obligations Required certifications include current CPR/First Aid/AED
