Job description

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a junior-to-mid-level Videographer/Media Specialist to support the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) program at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) in Panama City, FL. The Videographer should possess experience working with video recording/editing and animation, as well as experience in planning, development, and delivery of media products. This individual will provide development of digital training media for Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs).
Typical Responsibilities:  
  • Translate complex technical training manuals and procedures into scripts for instructional and training videos.
  • Capture and produce high quality video, audio, photography, and multimedia content of craft operation and maintenance activities.
  • Use digital video production, audio editing, and animation techniques to create professional training products.
  • Participate in all phases of video production, including content development, project planning, storyboarding, scripting, filming, peer-review discussions, and editing.
  • Exercise independent judgement and creative direction in executing broad project objectives to meet customer requirements, schedules, and end-product goals. Participate in planning stages and coordinate with team members.
  • Work with other audio/video personnel, 3D modelers, and technical experts (SMEs) to develop content, ensuring technical accuracy and end user understandability.
  • Produce other digital media in support of training.

Location: Primary onsite at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) and/or the nearby THOR office in Panama City, FL. Some local flex/telework may be permitted as allowed by work duties and government approval.
Travel: Up to 10% travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations is anticipated.
Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., tight spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.
Existing SECRET Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position. An otherwise strongly qualified candidate with highly relevant experience but no current security clearance may be considered.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Associate degree in fine art, digital media, animation, or a related discipline.
  • At least one (1) year of recent, relevant professional experience with video and media development, capture, and editing.
  • Proficiency with video and audio recording, editing, and publishing software.
  • Proficiency with common productivity software including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine art, digital media, animation, or a related discipline.
  • At least three (3) years of recent, relevant professional experience with video and media development, capture, and editing is highly preferred.
  • Experience obtained in a US Navy/DoD environment.
