The Video Monitor Technician provides continuous observation of patients requiring additional safety support. This position reports and documents observations and redirection, and engages the clinical team when the patients display at risk behavior that is not responsive to verbal redirection. This role, also, provides verbal support and reassurance to patients and their families. The Video Monitor Technician troubleshoots problems with equipment to ensure accurate and efficient monitoring of patients.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Provide verbal support and reassurance to patients and their families by communicating with nursing staff to promote patient safety.

  • Document within Epic any pertinent information related to job duties, as required.

  • Communicate and report patient data and information to the RN to ensure appropriate and timely care is provided to the patient.

  • Ensure staff promptly report any patient risk incidents and grievances from families regarding service quality, acting as a liaison to resolve these concerns effectively.

  • Monitor the patient at bedside, and notify nursing staff of the need for patient assistance or need to leave the patient's bedside, to maintain a safe environment for the patient.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred High School Diploma/GED

  • 1 year Healthcare or related Preferred

  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

TRAVEL IS REQUIRED:

Never or Rarely
