Description

Saint Mary's College is looking for On-Call Special Event Technician. The Special Event Tech is responsible for providing technical support for College events as directed by the Technical Coordinator and the Director of Campus and Community Events. Primary support will include, load in and load out for performances/events, crew work for performances in O'Laughlin (1300 seat proscenium theatre with rigging system), Little Theatre (275 seat proscenium theatre). Serving as running crew members for events requiring lights, AV and sound on campus. Knowledge and prior experience of scenic elements for stage, lighting systems, AV systems, fly system (48-line sets), sound systems (24 channel Midas Digital console). 

This position will load in and load out scenery, drops, electrical cables, sound cables, props and costumes for touring productions, setting stages with sound gear, lecterns, scenic elements, lighting elements, hanging and focusing lighting instruments, running light control, AV control, and soundboards, and assisting guests with wireless mics.

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Ability to push, lift, and carry heavy items (50 lbs)
  • High School diploma
  • Three years of either stage tech, AV, or sound experience
  • Ability to work with a stage crew
  • Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service

Preferred Qualifications    

  • Experience with ETC Element 2
  • Experience with operating a Midas sound console
  • Experience operating a stage rigging system

Schedule         

On-Call, Hours vary Can include weekend and evenings.
