Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Composer to join our Music Team. We're looking for someone who is passionate about creating emotionally compelling music that enhances gameplay, storytelling, and player experience across Blizzard's worlds. Blizzard Music is part of the Story and Franchise Development (SFD) department that works with all Blizzard teams to create musical content for in-game content, trailers, cinematics, and much more.

This role is open to remote work arrangements.

It is a fulltime staff position.

Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

As a Senior Composer, you will collaborate with the Music Director, fellow Composers, Music Production, and Assistants, as well as developers and other creative partners to realize musical content for Blizzard games. You'll take that music from concept to implementation and work to maintain consistent aesthetic(s) across all the music in our games. You'll partner closely with production throughout development to plan work, align priorities, and ensure successful delivery from concept through implementation.

This individual has many talents, and their creativity will help continue to add new quality music to all Blizzard's IP, building on Blizzard's musical legacy. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of musical theme and color as relates to both gameplay and storytelling.

The Senior Composers on the Blizzard Music Team are unique in the breadth their job entails from music to game implementation systems and ideas. Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • 8+ years of professional composition experience for games, film, television, or interactive media.
  • Experience with creating consistently awesome, memorable, emotional, but most importantly appropriate, music in support of in-game entertainment and linear media.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with production partners to plan work, manage priorities, communicate risks, and deliver high-quality musical content on schedule.
  • Experience in organizing and directing recording sessions, and working directly with musicians.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expert proficiency in one or more professional DAWs (Cubase, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, etc.) and modern virtual instrument libraries.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Extraordinary organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Superior ear for music and all its related details, and the ability to use them in creating beautiful music that supports gameplay.
  • Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $82,240.00 - $152,160.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
