Position: Coordinator – Social Media & Marketing

Atlanta Track Club is a nonprofit committed to creating an active and healthy Atlanta. Through running and walking, Atlanta Track Club motivates, inspires and engages the community to enjoy a healthier lifestyle. 

With 45,000 members, Atlanta Track Club is the second largest running organization in the United States. In addition to the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race – the largest 10K running event in the world, the Northside Hospital Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race, the Atlanta Marathon, PNC Atlanta 10 Miler and Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon, Atlanta Track Club directs more than 40 events per year. Through the support of its members and volunteers, Atlanta Track Club also maintains a number of community initiatives, including organizing and promoting the Kilometer Kids youth running program to metro Atlanta youth and honoring high school cross country and track and field athletes through Atlanta Track Club’s All-Metro Banquets. 


Position Overview: Reporting to the Senior Manager – Communications & Social Media, the Social Media & Marketing Coordinator supports the development and execution of Atlanta Track Club’s social media strategy while also supporting broader Marketing initiatives across the organization. This position works closely with the Senior Manager – Communications & Social Media to bring the Club’s social strategy to life across its digital channels, with a particular focus on organic video content, TikTok and Atlanta Track Club Elite. The Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will manage the day-to-day social media and digital presence of Atlanta Track Club Elite and Atlanta Track Club’s TikTok account while supporting content creation across the Club’s broader social media channels. The position will also support assigned event marketing campaigns, digital marketing initiatives, merchandise, ambassador programs and other departmental projects. Working closely with the Senior Manager – Communications & Social Media, the broader Marketing Department, Atlanta Track Club Elite athletes and coaches and departments across the organization, the Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will help tell compelling stories, grow Atlanta Track Club’s digital audiences and support marketing efforts that drive participation and engagement across the Club’s events, programs and initiatives. 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage content creation, strategy and day-to-day channel management for Atlanta Track Club Elite’s social media presence, including content calendars, posting schedules and audience engagement.  
  • Own content creation and channel strategy for Atlanta Track Club’s TikTok account while supporting content creation across the Club’s broader social media channels, with a particular focus on organic video and engaging visual content.  
  • Create original social media content from concept through execution, including filming and editing social-first video, developing simple brand-approved graphics, writing social copy and identifying timely content opportunities.  
  • Contribute to Atlanta Track Club’s overall social media strategy through content ideation, planning, trend identification and campaign execution in collaboration with the Senior Manager – Communications & Social Media and broader Marketing Department.  
  • Develop and execute social media plans for assigned Atlanta Track Club events, programs and campaigns, including pre-event promotion, on-site content capture and post-event storytelling.  
  • Attend Atlanta Track Club events, Elite practices, competitions and other opportunities as assigned to capture timely, authentic content and connect Elite athlete stories and the broader Atlanta Track Club community to the Club’s digital audience.  
  • Monitor Atlanta Track Club social media channels, engage with followers, participants and members and track content performance, audience trends and insights to help inform future social media strategy.  
  • Manage and maintain Atlanta Track Club Elite’s digital presence, including website content and assigned editorial content for Peachtree Magazine, Wingfoot Magazine and other Club publications.  
  • Support Atlanta Track Club Elite athlete and Marketing initiatives, including high school NIL partnerships, ambassador programs, athlete gear fulfillment, merchandise content and fulfillment, digital marketing initiatives and other departmental priorities.  
  • Manage Pete the Peach operations and social media presence, including appearances, scheduling, general upkeep, content creation and integration into Atlanta Track Club’s broader social strategy.  
  • Collaborate across departments to identify stories and content opportunities, maintain organized photography, video and digital assets and support Atlanta Track Club events on-site as assigned, including content capture, event setup and load-in/load-out. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Requirements:
  • College degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, digital media or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.  
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing, communications or a related field; relevant internship or freelance experience may be considered.  
  • Demonstrated experience creating engaging social media content across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook and other emerging channels.  
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, audiences and best practices, with particular familiarity with short-form and user-generated video content.  
  • Experience filming and editing social-first video content using mobile devices, cameras and/or other content creation tools.  
  • Experience capturing and editing photography for social media and digital use.  
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt voice, tone and messaging for different platforms, audiences and content types.  
  • Working knowledge of graphic design and content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar platforms.  
  • Experience using social media scheduling, publishing and analytics platforms such as Hootsuite or similar programs.  
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics with the ability to monitor performance, identify trends and use insights to improve future content.  
  • Creative and curious, with the ability to identify compelling stories and translate them into engaging social media content.  
  • Available to appear at events, practices, and other environments to proactively capture content and interact with athletes, participants, and members.  
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple content calendars, assignments, events and deadlines simultaneously.  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with athletes, staff, partners, ambassadors and members of the Atlanta running community.  
  • Ability to work independently in the field while effectively collaborating with internal and external partners  
  • Familiarity with or interest in running, walking, fitness and Atlanta’s sports and cultural communities is a plus.  
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and occasionally outside of Atlanta to support Atlanta Track Club Elite competitions and other content opportunities as assigned.  
  • Ability and willingness to support event load-in/load-out, including lifting up to 40 pounds.  
  • Flexibility to work select weekends, evenings, holidays, early mornings and extended weekday hours as needed.
