What You'll Do:
Responsible for developing and managing a complex portfolio of diverse, quality, and profitable commercial and commercial real estate loans and deposits, and treasury/cash management services. This position is primarily responsible for loan production including business development, networking, and relationship management. Develop and maintain strong relationships with COI's, existing member networks, community leaders, and other partners. Analyze and evaluate loan applications and make appropriate recommendations regarding product offerings, loan structuring, pricing, and approval. Participate in overall credit/risk management, portfolio management, and servicing of assigned portfolio. Ensures compliance with lending policies and procedures. Actively collaborate with other Royal Team Members to help meet Members' specific commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, and deposit and treasury/cash management needs.

  • Compensation:This is a salaried position; candidates with significant related experience may be higher. Pay may also depend on candidates' location.
    • MN range: $125,000- $160,000

What's Needed For This Position:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field or equivalent business lending work experience
  • Three (3) years of Commercial Lending experience
  • Must be bondable
  • Valid Driver's License and maintain it
  • Insured vehicle
  • Expertise in Commercial Lending & Credit Analysis: Strong ability to evaluate financial statements, business plans, and credit risk, including loan structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Business Development & Relationship Management: Proven ability to generate leads, build networks, and maintain strong relationships with Members, community partners, and centers of influence.
  • Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Advanced critical thinking skills to interpret data, assess risk vs. reward, and make informed, timely decisions in complex situations.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate financial solutions, present to committees, and influence stakeholders.
  • Technology & Organizational Proficiency: Skilled in using digital banking tools and Microsoft Office applications, with strong time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

We'd Love To See:
  • Specific Banking and Commercial Lenders education. i.e. Graduate School of Banking, Robert Morris Commercial Lending Courses, CUNA.
  • 5-10+ years of Commercial and Commercial Real Estate Lending experience

Work Schedule:
  • This position is part of Royal's workplace flexibility program and has the ability to be hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days in office) after a few months of training and proficiency in the position.
  • When not working remote, the office location is flexible in Edina, MN or at a Royal Minnesota office based on office availability and candidate preference, but will need to make occasional visits to the corporate center as needed for meetings
  • This position requires residency within Royal's office footprint of Wisconsin and Minnesota

Training:
  • Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
    • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
