Job description

Oaktree is a leader among global investment managers specializing in alternative investments, with more than $220 billion in assets under management, emphasizing an opportunistic, value-oriented, and risk-controlled approach to investments in credit, equity, and real estate. Oaktree Asset Backed Finance (ABF) is a step-out strategy which invests in pools of contractual assets, such as loans, leases, receivables, mortgages and licensing agreements, across corporate, consumer, real estate, transportation, equipment, infrastructure, energy, intellectual property and other esoteric asset categories. On behalf of ABF funds and clients, Oaktree purchases or commits to purchase assets, lends secured by assets in senior or mezzanine positions, insures or provides capital relief against assets, and provides essential capital to origination and servicing businesses. The Vice President will be the team's first investment-grade-focused ABF hire, primarily responsible for structuring IG ABF investments and contributing to all phases of the investment process, from sourcing through decision points to investment realization. Primary responsibilities include multi-party coordination with originators, insurance clients, rating agencies and non-insurance capital providers; designing financing arrangements that are capital efficient for insurers and acceptable to all stakeholders; and managing stakeholder buy-in, structuring, modeling, rating outcome and transaction execution.
